How to add a friend on Snapchat?
Once you have created your snapchat account you can start adding your friends, there are different ways in which you can add people by, one way is by entering their username, or using the snapchat app to search through your phone contacts to see which one of your contacts have snapchat. Additionally you can add friends via their snap code or by adding snapchat users nearby to you.
Adding via Username

In image 1 on we can see the snapchat homescreen, to add a friend you have to click on snapchat icon at the top center of the screen, once you have done this your snapchat profile page will come up which is what we can see in Image 2. After this you click on on add friends.
Once you see the screen above you proceed to clicking the 'Add by Username' button.
Next you enter the persons username and once you see the add symbol you go ahead and add the person. Once you have done this you will have to wait for the person to accept your request and then you can can start snapchatting them and viewing their stories.
Adding friends from address book
To add friends from address book you use a similar process to adding friends via username, you go to the snapchat profile page and click add friends but this time you click on 'Add from Address Book' or alternatively you can look under the 'Quick Add' title and it shows you contacts you have added recently to your phone that have snapchat and you just click to add button next to their name.
If you click on the 'Add from Address Book' you will see the page above and you go ahead to adding snapchatters that are in your contacts. Once the person accepts your friend request you become friends on snapchat.
Adding Friends By Snapcode
To add people by snapcode you go to the add friends page again and click on 'Add by Snapcode', when you have done this your camera roll will come up and to add a snapcode you have to have a screenshot like to one below for it to be scanned for a snapchat code.
After you have done this it will send a friend request to the person snapcode it has scanned for and once the person accepts the friend request they become your friend.
Add Nearby

To add a friend nearby you go to the adding friends page seen in Image 1 and you click on the button 'Add Nearby' and the screen seen in Image 2 will come up. Once you have done this a pop up message will come asking to use location services like the image below. When this message comes up click 'okay'.
After you have done this you have to ask your friend to open their add nearby so your phone can locate them. When you have done this you add your friend and wait for them to accept the friend request.
You then swipe right on the name of the person you want to message and the click on the message icon button or alternatively you can click on the message icon on the left corner of the screen.
To send a message you type your message in to the text box and then click on the circle button. You can also send picture from your phone by clicking on the circle button and then selecting the picture you want to send. 
After this you need to enter your email address, password and your birthday.
